Breaking News: Michigan Wolverines Head Coach Sherrone Moore named three incredible players to exit the club as he plans on restructuring……Read more

The 99th meeting between Michigan and Minnesota to contest for the Little Brown Jug, the oldest college football trophy, will take place on Saturday. The Wolverines have dominated the all-time series and have defeated the Gophers in four straight games. Michigan leads Minnesota 77-25-3, a huge edge.

Following a significant victory over USC last weekend, Michigan demonstrated that the #12 Wolverines are still capable of pounding the rock to win games. Michigan used a last-minute drive assisted by Kalel Mullings to defeat the Trojans. The primary focus of this game will be how Minnesota stops the Wolverines’ run attack, since the Hawkeyes ran wild on the Gophers following a devastating loss at home versus Iowa.

I asked some prospects to give me their predictions for the game this coming Saturday, and these are some of their opinions.

Elijah Golden, a four-star DL in 2026:

The defensive lineman predicts Michigan will defeat the Gophers by 20 points on Saturday because they will be prepared for them.

“This game is called Brown Jug! Without a doubt, this is a major game. Without a doubt, Michigan will perform exceptionally well!”

Michigan 30, Minnesota 10 in the end.

2026 Jaylen Pile, WR, three-star:

Pile is expecting big things from the Wolverines this week, especially after their impressive performance against the Trojans last week.

“Michigan appears to be in good shape after defeating USC. Michigan always shows up prepared, so I always take them.”

Will Conroy, a four-star OL in 2026:

Conroy wants Michigan to keep running the football, which is what has led the Wolverines to their current success.

“Run the damn ball.”

Cam Thomas, a 2026 four-star ATH/LB:

Though Thomas hopes to see more from the offense, he believes Michigan will be kept out of most games by the Wolverines’ defense.

“BigBlue will be kept out of most games by the defense. All the offense needs to do is land. #GoBlue.

2026 Gregory Patrick, OL, four stars:

Patrick predicts Michigan will move the ball on the ground this week after the Gophers were burned on the ground by Iowa last weekend.

“I think Michigan will be able to run the ball really effectively.”

Four-star OL Zaden Krempin in 2026:

According to Krempin, the Wolverines will triumph on Saturday if Michigan plays like it did last week. Even if the Gophers’ pass defense is ranked second, it won’t matter if they can’t thwart the Wolverines’ running game.

“I am certain that Michigan has it in the bag if the same team that I saw last weekend plays. If you run the ball down their throat, a strong pass defense is of little use.

Jaziel Hart, a three-star CB in 2026:

Because of Michigan’s run game and the defensive play of Will Johnson, Hart has Michigan rated very highly in this game.

“I’m all about Michigan, sweetheart! They have Will Johnson, the best cornerback in college football, and they play hard, smash-mouth football.”

2027: Four-star quarterback Trae Taylor

The primary Michigan target believes that the winning team will be determined by how well they can run the football. Darius Taylor, the running back for the Gophers, has performed admirably. Donovan Edwards and Kalel Mullings are both from Michigan. His bet is on Michigan to win.

“I believe that the winner of this game will be the run game. Darius Taylor will undoubtedly be restricted to playing for his home state school. And it’s evident that Michigan remains among the best-performing universities in the nation. I believe Michigan overcomes this, though.”
