Emotional Departure: As brilliant star player for the Philadelphia Eagles, waves goodbye and announces his contract termination with severe allegations over…..
During the eleven months that passed since Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman made the decision to sign Saquon Barkley, not everyone believed it was a good idea.
Free agent running backs have been devalued across the National Football League (NFL), and there were numerous concerns that the Eagles were devoting an excessive amount of wage budget flexibility to a position that was not of substantial importance.
That is something that is being debated by a relatively small number of people at the moment. Barkley established himself as one of the most successful running backs in the history of the sport by accumulating a total of 2,504 rushing yards throughout the regular season and the postseason with his performance.
Roseman is of the belief that Barkley’s season was the best possible one that a running back has ever had the opportunity to endure.
During a visit with PFT Live at the Scouting Combine, he noted that, in his opinion, no offensive playmaker in the history of the game has ever had a season that can be compared to Barkley’s.
This is something that he believes cannot be said about any other offensive playmaker.
“The best season of a skill position player in the history of the National Football League,” stated Roseman in his article.
Throughout the history of the National Football League, this is the most rushes of sixty yards or more that have been completed by any player performing a skill position.
The next-closest receiver was Jerry Rice, who was six yards away, while the next-closest running back was four yards away. Both of these players were playing in the same position.
A title was won by him, and he also held the record for the most rushing yards in a single season on multiple occasions.
Since this is the case, I believe that this season is the best season in the history of the National Football League for any player who plays a position that requires skill.
It would be a challenging endeavor to argue against it. It turned out that Barkley was a huge boost to the Eagles’ offense, and he was a significant component to the fact that they were able to end the season with the Lombardi Trophy.
Barkley was ultimately responsible for the Eagles’ success.
