The New England Patriots have offered $226.57 million to acquire New York Jets QB amidst team turmoil…

On Wednesday, the New England Patriots made a roster improvement by adding Alex Erickson, a wide receiver who had previously played for the Los Angeles Chargers, to their practice squad. The team made the announcement.

Patriots Sign Former Chargers WR

No games have been played by Erickson in the year 2024. He had his final appearance with the Chargers during the previous season, during which he participated in eight games and recorded 16 receptions for 232 yards and a score.

The college football player, who is now 32 years old and played his college football at the University of Wisconsin, was not selected in the draft but ended up signing with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2016. He began his professional career with the Bengals and remained with them for the first five years of his career. In 2019, he had his best season, during which he hauled in 43 receptions for 529 yards.

Following his time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Erickson signed with the Carolina Panthers for a single season in 2021. During that time, he only managed three receptions for a total of 55 yards. The player, who was born and raised in Darlington, Wisconsin, did not participate in any games in 2022 until joining Los Angeles the following year.

On the other hand, it will be fascinating to observe if or not the Patriots actually decide to include Erickson on their active roster and make use of him over their last three games. It is very clear that New England has a significant void at the wide receiver position, and it is something that the Patriots will unquestionably have to address over the following offseason.

On the other hand, if Erickson is able to do something during the remaining few weeks of the season, it will go a long way toward the Patriots perhaps giving him a chance to make the roster in 2025 with the team.

The New England Patriots had a terrible loss to the Arizona Cardinals, and they are currently only 3-11 on the season. March is anticipated to be a busy month for the Patriots because they are expected to have a significant amount of cap space heading into free agency.

In addition, they will be faced with a number of significant choices during the NFL Draft; however, it would appear that they have identified Drake Maye as the quarterback of the future for their team.
