Reports: Memphis Tigers’ Head Coach Penny Hardaway’s Legacy Shines with 21 Former Tigers Still Thriving in….
Whether he is signing high school talents who are considered to be among the best in the country or luring transfers who are considered to be among the best in the country, Memphis basketball coach Penny Hardaway has been acknowledged for a long time as a strong recruiter.

There has been a greater difficulty in gaining recognition as a talent development. However, there are now 21 former Tigers players who are still playing professional basketball in some capacity.
These individuals played under Hardaway at some point throughout their six seasons at Memphis and are still active in the sport.
Two of those individuals made their first appearances in the NBA just a month ago. After completing his collegiate career at TCU, Damion Baugh signed a two-way deal with the Charlotte Hornets on February 12 and has participated in five games since then.
Baugh spent two seasons at Memphis (2019-21) before attending TCU for his last two years of college. During the previous season, Nae’Qwan Tomlin was a standout for the Tigers in all 21 games.
He is currently under contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers on a two-way basis and has previously participated in three games.
In addition to Precious Achiuwa (player for the New York Knicks), Jalen Duren (player for the Detroit Pistons), Lester Quinones (player for the New Orleans Pelicans), and Josh Minott (player for the Minnesota Timberwolves), Baugh and Tomlin are among the NBA players that were coached by Hardaway at Memphis during this season.
Jeremiah Martin, James Wiseman, and Emoni Bates are the other three players who have previous experience playing in the NBA.
