Although Adam Fox has long been regarded as the best defenseman in the NHL, that might be changing with a nasty comment directed on the New York Rangers player.

Adam Fox has usually ranked among the best defenseman in the NHL in recent years, but with his subpar performance at the Four Nations Face Off—especially in the Finale versus Team Canada—there have been doubts about his capacity to keep playing at a top level.

Now, things seem to be getting worse for his reputation since he has since been ripped by other players across the league, who apparently perceive him as someone they can exploit, especially when the lights are on brightest during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Given how much his stock has dropped in recent weeks, it is natural with his present situation; it is not obvious exactly when these players were asked this and who they were, as it would fundamentally alter the meaning of this quotation.

Ryan Lindgren obviously isn’t able to be the player to disguise Fox’s shortcomings anymore, so many people around the league have now urged the Rangers to go out and get an elite level LHD to play alongside Fox. Unless the front office can do that, it might imply a significant decline in play from Fox.

Although he is still a highly effective offensive player with 47 points in 59 games played with a +5 differential, if he performs as he did at the Four Nations during the forthcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs (should the Rangers make it there of course), these guys could prove right ultimately.
