In their 5-3 triumph against the visiting Utah Hockey Club on Saturday night, Drew Doughty had a goal and two assists for the Los Angeles Kings.

Joel Edmundson and Phillip Danault each had two assists; Kevin Fiala had a goal and an assist; Alex Laferriere, Trevor Lewis, Mikey Anderson also scored; Darcy Kuemper made 25 stops for the Kings, who moved to a league-best 18-3-2 at home.
Nick Schmaltz had two assists and Connor Ingram made 21 saves; Barrett Hayton had the first hat trick in Utah club history. Three of four Utah had won going into the two-week hiatus for the 4 Nations Face-off.
After Quinton Byfield was called for tripping Hayton, Utah launched the first power play of the game and Hayton seized eighteen seconds later. At 7:54 of the first session, he steered a backhand pass from Schmaltz past Kuemper for a 1-0 advantage.
Doughty, who assisted Canada in winning the 4 Nations championship game on Thursday, scored his first goal of the season 28 seconds later on a one-timer from above the circles to level it 1-1. At 5:50 of the second session, Hayton scored once more to drive Utah back ahead 2-1.
From the slot, Kuemper made a left pad save on a one-timer; but, the rebound came out diagonally to Hayton, with a wide-open side of the net. When Fiala scored on a one-timer from the right circle to knot it 2-2 at 7:59 of the second, Los Angeles was on its first power play.
Following behind the defense for a breakaway and scoring with a backhand to make it 3-2 at 16:10 of the second, Laferriere gave the Kings their first lead. At 9:41 of the third Lewis backhanded a rebound past Ingram to push the margin to 4-2.
At the 11-minute mark Hayton finished his first NHL hat trick by sweeping a rebound into the net to trim the advantage to 4-3. Anderson clinched the victory with an empty-netter that turned things 5-3 with 1:30 remaining.
