Emotional Departure: As brilliant star player for the Philadelphia Eagles, waves goodbye and announces his contract termination with severe allegations; tears well up across the room as he announces his….
Nearly two weeks separate us from Super Bowl LIX, and the celebration of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 40-22 victory over Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs is still ongoing.

Opening on a 34-0 run across almost three-quarters of action, the Eagles couldn’t have asked for a better start to the game. Kelce was hardly an anomaly; Chiefs players were clearly irritated on the field and the sideline during the commanding performance.
Kelce and Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson got into it with one other throughout the blowout. Gardner-Johnson still popped Kelce in the back even though a Patrick Mahomes ball meant for his tight end dropped short. This infuriated the former Cincinnati Bearcats star, who got up fast and started straight toward the safety before running across him.
This resulted in Kelce getting some words with Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, two additional Philadelphia defenders. Gardner-Johnson visited “NFL Digest” on Wednesday, ten days following the Super Bowl to talk about the Eagles’ triumph. Later on, he revealed what he told Kelce during the game but also noted that there wasn’t really any conflict between the two.
“Secondly quarter, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, he’s scared of us,'” Gardner- Johnson stated. “The stadium housed 95% Eagles supporters… I told him on the field, the whole Kelce scenario, and he looked at me like, ‘Ain’t nobody talk to him ever…’. Though I’m not sure if it’s smoke, let me say… I ain’t ducking.”
Kelce ended the game with four 39-yard catches. In the first half, though, he recorded zeros across the stat sheet, same as the Chiefs did. Gardner-Johnson, on the other hand, counted three tackles. Though he did spend a time with the Lions in 2023, he is still one of the last Philadelphia defensive starters from Super Bowl LVII.
Gardner-Johnson says there is no conflict, but it hasn’t prevented him from aiming shots at Kelce following the Super Bowl. Using the tagline “Should have stayed with that thick [expletive],” he notably uploaded a picture of the encounter on social media, aiming at Taylor Swift. He was still traveling with the couple at the Super Bowl procession sporting a hoodie bearing the words “Swifties can LIX my [expletive].”
