Breaking: Pittsburgh Steelers wide Receiver shocks fans by Departing After heated Rift with head coach Mike Tomlin….See more
In Thursday night’s 24-19 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at frigid Huntington Bank Field, Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II retaliated against Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens following a post-game melee.
With three crying laughing emojis, Newsome wrote, “Fake tough guy,” on X.
Following the unsuccessful Hail Mary effort on the game’s last play, Pickens attempted to replicate his move from Georgia by hurdling Newsome into the first row.
Pickens responded “Nothing” when questioned about the game’s final moments. Pickens thinks the Browns are a terrible team and that the weather was a major factor in the loss. Pickens had a disappointing game, catching just four passes for 48 yards (12.0 average).
When questioned about a third-quarter pass that went incomplete between Pickens and Russell Wilson, Wilson responded, “The conditions were so bad.” At times, I seriously doubt the quarterback could see. Things tend to work in the other team’s advantage when you’re playing on their home pitch.
The weather was a major factor in today’s game. In my opinion, the Cleveland Browns are a terrible football club. Today, I feel like the weather was on their side.
George Pickens was defended by Cam Newton, a former quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, on Friday morning’s First Take on ESPN. In the Steelers-Browns rivalry, Newton believes he plays the role of the ideal villain.
The man is a total bust. Every one of us adores him. The team’s canine is him. Does he act tough? No, he’s canine. The dog was officially named “official dog” by Newton. In my opinion, there are a few essentials for a well-rounded squad. George Pickens is the kind of guy you need. You get that grit and fortitude from these guys—quote unquote really gifted, defiant individuals. The problem is that having too many George Pickens will lead to a lack of discipline. The perfect combination would consist of both choir boys and individuals who have had a breakdown or are rebellious.
According to Browns safety Grant Delpit’s Instagram Story, Pickens attempted to trip Delpit, prompting Delpit to seize Pickens’ mouthpiece.
Like Netwon pointed out, Pickens’ tendency to play on the edge and instigate isn’t always a negative thing—so long as he doesn’t hinder the team by going overboard.
