I’m Leaving: Chicago Bears’ Star QB Caleb Williams Announces His Departure, Citing Unwarranted Treatment From…..Read More
An unexpected name has been added to the Chicago Bears’ final injury report before of Week 12’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Veteran running back Keenan Allen was restricted in Friday’s practice due to an ankle ailment; his availability for Sunday’s game is in doubt.
Head coach Matt Eberflus told the media after practice that Allen rolled his ankle, but that he doesn’t believe it’s a serious injury and is optimistic about his status for Sunday. The fact that Allen has missed two games so far this season owing to a heel issue bodes well.

According to Friday’s final injury report, the offense did get some positive news. After missing last Sunday’s game with a groin injury, running back D’Andre Swift returned to full participation at the end of the week. Swift stated after practice that he will definitely play against the Vikings despite being listed as questionable for the game.

On the other hand, Teven Jenkins, the left guard, will not be out Sunday due to injury. Jenkins suffered an ankle injury last week and missed the game, but he has been fully active for the past two days. The offensive line will benefit greatly from Jenkins’ presence on the field.
Only two players—offensive lineman Ryan Bates (concussion) and safety Elijah Hicks (ankle)—will not be playing this week because of injuries. Since Bates is out with an injury, Jake Curhan and Doug Kramer will get the nod to start at guard and center, respectively.
With Hicks out with an injury, Jonathan Owens and Kevin Byard will start at safety. However, Adrian Colbert was reinstated to the practice squad this week. If he is promoted tomorrow, we will find out.

In preparation for their game against the Vikings, the Bears appear to be in better shape than they have been in recent weeks. The offensive line will likely start all five starters, and all of the offense’s weapons should be fully healthy. The unit’s defensive strategy that has worked well this season—relying on the next man up—will be repeated.
